Architectural Coatings

American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) originally established the performance requirements for powder coatings applied for building facades, windows, doors and associated componentry.  Today AAMA has transitioned into the Fenestration and Glazing Industry Alliance (FIGA).  Powder coating manufacturers have committed to strict adherence to the performance requirements established within the original AAMA Voluntary Specifications for Organic Coatings.  Powder coatings made to these specifications offers superior coating performance to architectural designers and their clientele.  These classes of coatings are broken down into three types:

True architectural grade coatings will be specified as AAMA2604 or AAMA2605 and require a certified applicator to process the finish.

Andrews Powder Coating, Inc. is certified/approved to apply architectural coatings to the AAMA2605-20 standard by AkzoNobel, Axalta, IGP, IFS, PPG, Sherwin-Williams and Tiger Drylac.
